Visitor Review:
Stayed at this hotel beginning Jan. Our room had a fantastic view of Mt Leman although I doubt if many rooms do by the layout of the hotel so request one in advance. The suites are smaller than average, especally the bedroom but I think it is more important to have a bigger lounge area and the bathroom is certainly roomy and well laid out.
Staff were very helpful and the complimentary breakfast was the best we had on our trip through Arizona and California. The chef would do eggs to order so you could have something different every day.
The pool was lovely and warm and although the weather was not sunny enough to sit out afterwards, a swim after a day’s hiking through Sabino Canyon was the perfect end to the day.
Would recommend a trip to Sabino Canyon which is just up the road from the hotel - we had to cross about four small streams that were running over the road but it was well worth getting wet feet - unfortunately you can only walk so far as a huge rock fall prevents you getting to the end of the canyon but it is still worth doing.
Also don’t forget to go to Tombstone - great fun day out and well worth seeing.
Just over the road from the hotel is a very upmarket supermarket called AJs - we had a great time browsing around, it makes our supermarkets here in the UK look very shabby. Can get a great lunch put together on the deli counter. Also some nice restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel, although you do have to cross the main road if you want more choice.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay a few days in Tucson as it is very comfortable and in a good location.
