Visitor Review:

My wife and I were a bit nervous about staying here after reading some reviews. Turns out we are glad we followed through, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

I am HHonors gold and booked a King room with the hot tub through the Hilton site @ $300/night. We added on two nights in Charleston following three nights in Myrtle Beach. Maybe the disappointment of MB added to our enjoyment of Charleston, but we had a blast.

The room - We had 201 which was in the corner of the building. One wall was brick, the others were plastered stone or standard sheet rock. The hot tub in the room was a nice 2-person tub. The king bed was very confortable. The only negative was that the bedroom door, when opened, blocked the entry to the bathroom. A minor inconvience, but very annoying.

The hotel - By now you know it is in the former Citadel building, and prior to that served as a fort and an arsenal, amongst other things. This added to the “cool factor.” The layout is easy and comfortable. We enjoyed the manager’s reception both nights. The appetizers were good and the line was never too long. I hope Randi is your hostess. She’s great! We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Again, lines were not too long, and the prepped foot was delicious and always hot. The staff here is equally friendly. The cook is awesome. Must be that Southern Hospitality.

Parking - it is $12 self park and $18 for valet. We paid for the valet and never had too long of a wait for our car. One night we decided against driving to dinner, and the bellman called a “pedi-cab.” It was $10 to go down to Market and Bay St. A very enjoyable ride on a beautiful evening!

The staff - always friendly and helpful. One of the friendliest staffs at any Embassy I have stayed at recently.

I stay at Embassy about 6 times a year. This was one of the best, from staff to the food to the clean and comfortable rooms. It is not the cheapest, but all things considered, it is A+. I’d definitely stay here again!
